i know it's real early but is anyone a little disappointed with the
stage and production? seems way scaled back- the stage is very simple
and low key, there doesn't seem to be any pyro...the lighting rig is
probably not as expansive (but i couldn't really tell for sure). even
alex's drum kit is scaled back quite a bit (tho it was smaller last
tour, aswell). i even miss dave's kicks. he didn't do many last tour
and i haven't noticed any in the clips i've seen.

i know they're old and everything but there seems to be a lack of
energy and on top of that, the scaled back stage and production. plus,
we get a shitty opening act of...kool and the gang?! for the prices
they're charging, cutting back on this other stuff is kind of a rip-
off. at least eddie's playing a lot better this time out. he and al
were really rusty in '04 and '07.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect a 57 year old to do drum riser
splits or high spin kicks.

I'm okay with the staging; I didn't care too much for the "S" stage in
2007-08. I don't think we've seen pyro at a VH show since 1986.
Either way, it's all about the music; if the band sounds great, then I
can put up with the minimalist staging.

From what I understand, Kool and the Gang are onstage for an hour, and
I think that's way too long. In 2007, Bob Marley's son was the
opening act and was only onstage for about a half hour.

In 2004, Eddie's playing was terrible. In 2007-08, it was mostly
great with a few off-nights. I've heard clips from this tour, and
Eddie (who appears to have gained 20 pounds since the last tour)
sounds amazing.

a fucking hour of kool and the gang?? are you serious? holy shit. is
VH trying to totally alienate and piss off the crowd before they go
onstage or what? kool has "celebration", "get down on it" and maybe
3-4 other tolerable songs. they should be done in 30 minutes. christ.
