the reason for the 'postponement' of the gigs is down to the terrible
ill feeling now existing within the band as eddie van halen blames
roth for the disappointing sales of their latest album.
the album, despite being on sale for over five months, has yet to go
platinum - far,far from it. none of the singles released by the band
have been hits. live concert sales are very good indeed but this just
isn't enough for eddie van halen who sees himself as a huge star and
has become extremely frustrated at what he perceives as a lack of
success for his latest project.
disappointed that the album isn't going to be a massive seller- it's
never going to go multiplatinum at this rate - eddie is looking for
someone to blame and that someone is roth.
van halen - cancelled!!! cancelled forever!!!!
soon to be announced by the van halen brothers.....roth has 'quit' the
band.
RIP the band that was once Van Halen.

Gee, Sammy. I thought it was about filling the gigs, which they have been
doing. Album sales haven't been the main source of income for a long
time. It sure was a reality check when they said in their own interview
that after VH-1 going double platinum, they owed the record company $2
million!!!! See the interviews at www.vhnd.com

who knows what's going on in eddie's kooky head but he shouldn't be
all that disappointed with album sales. they put out a great album and
sales are just way down, especially for rock bands. ed does love to
point the finger, tho. only time will tell if these postponements are
something or nothing.

Madonna and Springsteen both released albums around the same time and
neither have gone Platinum or Gold. The only album to have sold more
than a million this year is by Adele.

Songs are just way too easy to download for free these days. They
could have gone the Wal-Mart/Best Buy route and sold more, but at what
cost?

could you imagine Led Zeppelin releasing an album that didn't go
multiplatinum in the US in the time A Different Kind Of Lie has been
on release? well Van Halen used to be just as big and thought of as
just as important!

it's over and you know it!!!

Could you imagine Bruce Springsteen and Madonna not even going *Gold*
in the same time? No need to imagine, they didn't...

Tell it the 55,000 fans who will see them in Los Angeles this time
around. I'll be at the Honda Center next week. That's more in one city
than will attend the entire Chickenfoot tour.

Later!

Shouldn't you be busy celebrating the Queen's jubilee or whatever 18th Century gayness you gap-toothed Limeys are doing in the UK this week?

It's different times man. And also, the name wasn't polluted as much as
the VH name.

I still think the album is great. I don't care how much it sold.

It's always going to be outsold by Justin Beiber and Myley Cyrus.
What's that prove to you?

v=8Dw6YrpsPWs even though it is flat about 0.39 semitones... I can
correct it.

Am I the only one shocked to see Lionel Richie on this list? :)

I didn't even know he was recording anymore.
