First of all, the shows are "posponed", not "cancelled".
There are 14 shows left between today and last scheduled show on June 26.
If the band really was fighting constantly, it's a stretch to think they
could co-exist for that many more dates and off-days. Ditto if someone in
the band was having serious health issues and needed medical attention or
rehab.
I'm not naive enough to think Ed and Dave haven't had disagreements on this
tour, and I'm sure there are therapists/counselors/specialists backstage to
help everyone get along and stay sober. Sorf of like that goof on the
Metallica "Some Kind of Monster" video at $40K a month. But from the show I
attended in Chicago and other videos floating around on the net, the band is
tight onstage and looks to be having fun.
I must say I'm surprised at Rolling Stone putting out such shoddy work, all
based on some unnamed source within the band. Not that RS is still relevant
when it comes to music journalism, but you'd think their reputation over the
last 50 years would prompt them to do a better job. RS seems to have weird
attitudes toward certain bands......they slobber all over whatever the
flavor of the month is, yet intentionally ignore bands like VH, Iron Maiden,
Allman Bros and Kiss that have been around for decades and still make music
and tour. Probably related to Jann Wenner (RS owner) who hates Kiss and
won't allow them in the RRHOF.
