i don't know if this is more funny than sad...it's like a kid refusing
to believe santa or the tooth fairy isn't real. a supposedly grown man
upset that "jazz hands" (TB's words) dave could be gay (noooooo!!!). i
didn't want to believe it either for the longest time...or just
overlooked it but now i feel a little silly because it's so painfully
obvious dave's been in the closet with the way he's let his guard down
(i first noticed it with his appearance on jon stewart back
in...'94?), especially with some of these recent interviews and clips.
you'd have to have your head buried in the sand not to see it. he
makes paul lynde look like hugh fucking hefner! but i digress...

ok, for the record, i said dave was the best guy on the stage on the
'07 tour and that he sang very well for the 2 chicago shows i've seen
(tho eddie's been the best guy on stage this time around). i also said
i was pleasantly surprised at how great the new album is. do i think
this reunion with dave will last? probably not but that's just going
by the history of the band from the past 15 years or so. as long as
they tour and put out good albums with dave, i hope they can hold it
together. i'm sick of the musical chair bullshit with lead singers. i
liked the hagar era but they've done their best music with dave. it's
pretty fucking hard to dispute that.

colored glasses off, i realized what a finger pointing, back stabbing,
miserable prick he really was. and how sub-par (putting it lightly) he
played in '04 and '07. but really man, dave is probably gay. there's
no santa claus, either. sorry to burst your bubble. hey, my neighbor
was married and had 5(!) kids...but you know what? he finally came out
as being gay. he got tired of living a lie, as i suspect dave has,

i don't want dave to be gay. he should be who he is. i think he was
living a lie (or repressed or in the closet...however you want to put
it) for a long time. he started seriously dropping his guard in the
early-mid 90's...and that's ok. he should just come out already. but
there's still a stigma in this day and age and some people still hate
gay people for being honest with themselves, so i guess i understand
why he wouldn't come out but to me, it's painfully obvious he's gay
(or bi or whatever). if you want to put blinders on to his overly
fruity behavior and be in denial, that's up to you.
