Sam continually talks shit about his former band. Former band replies by
shoving a brand new top selling and very good CD in his fat bitching mouth
and shuts him up... for good.

Love it.

There's not really anything to discuss. Van Halen in 2007 sold out
every show and grossed $90 million; Van Halen in 2004 sold out a few
shows, grossed $54 million and promoters lost money. The audience has
spoken.

...but it's fun to have some mediocre talent to rip on.

Good ol' Spammy, where would we be without him? He's like the retard
we used to push in the mud puddle in second grade.

So what was the mighty Roth grossing in 2004 then? Eh? Don't suppose
you'll dare to answer, at least not with the truth eh? Never met a
Roth fan that could bear to admit the guy was a has-been without his
supposedly 'backing musicians' the van halen brothers. Better the myth
than the truth. Roth was nothing without eddie yet he treated him like
shit on his shoe, fucking his girlfriend then fucking alex's bride to
be the night before the wedding.
The 2004 tour was a fiasco. Under rehearsed. Eddie in no fit state to
be on tour. Only thrown together for the sake of Alex making money
quick. Ticket prices twice as high as they should have been for a band
coming off a poor selling and poorly rated album. Fans full of anger
towards Eddie. Eddie full of anger towards the fans. Eddie too scared
to be interviewed. It would have been every bit as bad if Roth had got
back in. He and Eddie would never have spoken again

It failed because people today (and in 2004) could give a rat's ass
about Van Hagar. That people weren't buying tickets had nothing to do
with the actual performances or Eddie's condition; unless you assume
that everybody who attended those shows follows the reviews on the
internet, how would anybody know prior to the performances that they
would be bad? If Dave was the singer for that tour, it would have
sold more tickets.

The tickets were just as expensive in 2007, so you can't use that as
an excuse.

Yup, tickets also slashed for Van Hagar concerts and they still didn't
sellout. RS reported that promoters lost money on the tour.

Bottom line: VH grossed 97 million to Van Hagar's 54 million, with
250,000 more tickets sold in 5 less concerts.

Truly remarkable.

...and remember all the Van Hagar idiots at VHlinks like Van Sqaulen
who predicted after the 07-08 tour, no one would be interested in
Dave/VH anymore?

int eresting to see only four 'new' songs from the 'new' 'van halen'
album make the new tour. aren't they promoting the new album then?
this to me is a big mistake. they need to perfrom the new material to
show that they are a current band with relevant material not just an
old reunion band. if they do this on the next tour expect them to go
into decline in terms of their live appeal as did the kiss reunion.
please don't bother to mention the rolling stones. the stones are way
out of the league of any version of van halen in terms of musical
talent, importance and popularity.

This is the second tour with Dave and it's still selling a lot better
than the first one with Hagar.

Stones are mainstream rock, might as well bring up a Beatles
comparison as well.

Shitty time to be a Hagar fan...

i'm surprised they're playing even 4 songs off the new one but good
for them. it's a good album but they have a big catalog and people
want to hear the classics. 4 new ones seems like a good number. i
wouldn't be mad if they played 5 new ones or 3 new ones.

My calendar says it 2012 and they are on the verge of their second
$100 million tour.

Do you ever get anything right? LOL

You think beating Hagar like a red headed step-child is a challenge?

Key word here is "was".

So why did they gross 100 million coming off both a bad tour with
Hagar and bad album with Cherone?

You're not very good at this, are you>

Fans love Eddie now. The "has-been" Roth is back. Doesn't matter that
he sacked Mike Anthony, they've been successful at everything ever
since the "has-been" DLR came back.
