dave's era is no doubt the best and i'm glad they're touring with him and made an excellent album...but my god, is dave gay. good for him for letting his guard down, even if he hasn't "officially" come out. anyone who can't tell he's gay by now has their head in the sand.

He isn't gay, but that's one of most bizarre videos anyone has ever put out.
I mean, the No-Holds-BBQ was weird, but at least it was mildly entertaining.

But 2 hours of dancing to the O'Jays is just... strange.

His fake name on the third tour was "Hugh Jazz." Just a weird bit of
trivia.

i never thought so or probably didn't want to believe it (i'm pro gay rights/marriage for what it's worth) like a lot of fans who remember his jungle stud image from the 70s and 80s but i've noticed since probably the mid-90s (he did an interview on jon stewart's show he had on VH-1 around that time that made me start to question his sexuality. he was acting OVERTLY...flamboyant. different from his VH days), he's really let his guard down since then. anyone who sees shit like this video and can't tell he's gay has their head in the sand. it couldn't be more fucking obvious. it's painfully obvious now.

that said, i'm glad they put out a great album and that they're touring with dave and we're getting to hear all the old jams once again. i honestly didn't think i'd ever see them play together again.

So a video of Dave rehearsing for the tour with nothing different than
what is on an episode of Dancing With The Stars is proof he's gay?

Sorry, but you're an idiot. It's painfully obvious. Seriously...
again... you have the mental capacity of a small child.

You've repeated the same childish rant here many times over the last
ten years. You *still* feel you haven't made your point yet about
something that is supposedly so obvious? Why the obsession/mission
with your "Dave is gay, you *must* believe me" crap?

Looks like you've ran out of material since you can no longer play the
"Dave will never be back, Dave is broke, Dave played Ribfest" cards.
The gay card is all you got left and your desperation is showing.

Get a clue and a life...

If Dave was gay, then he surely would have been outed by now. Eddie
or Alex during the 90's would have said something in order to defame
him. Moreover, we know that he had a brief relationship with
Apollonia (from Purple Rain) during the 80's, and he also mentioned
the first names of ex-girlfriends in numerous interviews. Granted,
none of this is absolute, 100% proof that he isn't gay, but I'd say
that the evidence to the contrary is far weaker.

Dave certainly had more than his share of the girls. I know that
Alex has been quoted as saying that Dave fucked a lot. And no
he wasn't with guys backstage.

i think that probably dave didn't come to terms with it til sometime in the 90s when he started dropping his guard (mannerisms and such) during interviews. he definitely started acting...different/more effeminate. i'm sure back in the day he felt it could've been a career killer and being gay certainly wasn't as accepted as today.

shit, one of my neighbors was married and had 5 fucking kids...before he came to terms with being gay. he has a friend who had the same deal- married, had 4 kids...ended up with a make partner in his 40s/50s. it happens, whether you think it's a possibility or not. some guys discover/come to terms with their jazz hands later in life.

*male partner (not make partner)
Even if what you say is true, I would not care if Dave was gay anymore
than I cared that Freddie Mercury was gay. Hammer to Fall, Play the
Game, Bohemian Rhapsody, Tie Your Mother Down, etc. did not stop being
great songs. Nor did I care that Rob Halford is gay... it really
would make no difference to me.

doesn't change my opinion of dave either way, aswell. he was a great singer/frontman for VH. i also think he's a well read, interesting guy and he doesn't get much credit for that...but then again, he always played up the party boy role. i do think he's making it pretty obvious with stuff like this video. he should just come out but i guess this is close enough. maybe he'll do it after VH ends.

What? Didn't they teach you in the 5th grade that guys who dance are
gay and that girls have Cooties?

It looks like 50 different days of tour rehearsal joined together and
put out for *fun*. Of course the Dave-haters will use it to spin their
hate. It's against the law to have fun or be different these days, I
suppose...

I wish they would have filmed 50 days in the studio. I think Metallica
did something like this a few years back. That would be cool.

Look, there's no bigger Roth fan than me, but did they honestly
believe that someone would sit down for two straight hours and watch
that?

I have no idea... but reading through the comments at VHND, apparently
at least one person did. LOL

This is the Youtube age, it cost nothing to post. People post loads of
crap on the Internet everyday. I wouldn't read too much into it...
