anyone know what the sales are for the new VH album? did it hit gold?
platinum? i know it's rough going for album sales these days but i
also know amazon and itunes had some really good deals, having sales
of $5-7 for the new album.

it'd be a shame if this doesn't make platinum. it's a damn good album.
how many bands make their heaviest album in 30 yrs??

anyone have any thoughts on producer john shanks? i only knew him from
a chris isaak album he did. isaak decided to try shanks after using
the same guy for many yrs. the album shanks produced for isaak was
probably isaak's overall best album to date, imo. i wasn't sure how
he'd do with a heavier band like VH, tho.

According to Soundscan, to date it has sold 377,000 copies.
Note, if someone on iTunes downloads a few songs but not the entire
album, then that may not even factor in to the total number of record
sales. And as we know, pretty much the entire album is available for
free on YouTube.

It would have been cool to see the record go platinum, or even gold,
in one month, but this a completely different era of music and today
money is made primarily by touring.

do you have a site link for that info? i'm not debating the number,
just curious to see at a later date. do you know how often the number
is updated? it sounds like they'll probably hit gold but i'm not so
sure about platinum. i would think the bulk of fans who wanted the
album, have the album now, especially with the amazon and itunes deals
as low as $5. definitely a different era for album sales.

The album was released in Australia before it was in the US and it was
available on torrent sites for download days before it was even officially
available in the US.

That sort of thing hurts album sales too.

that's been going on for a decade or more now, tho. at least amazon
and itunes had it on sale for a great price.

madonna has a new album?! and it's almost gold already?? wow.
i haven't even heard a single song from a lot of these artists. it's
mostly bullshit pop acts or oldies bands. it's sad there are barely
any new good rock BANDS out there making a dent now. music since the
mid/late 90s til now has really sucked overall. what a drought.
