ok, so i guess they used about 5 of the old demos for this album-
tattoo (down in flames), she's the woman, bullethead, big river (big
trouble) and beats workin' (i forget what the original was titled).

anyway, of these songs, which do you prefer the original and which do
you prefer the new version?

i haven't heard the old demos in ages, so i can't really give an
opinion on that but i will say that bullethead is easily my least
favorite (horrible hook) and that the hook of "she's the woman" sounds
very dated.

I thought the demos sucked. I've never even been able to completely
listen to 'Zero', due to the poor sound quality. So when I heard the
album, they all sounded new to me.

She's the Woman sounds about the same and I don't really like it that
much, except for the new middle-solo.

Everything else kicks ass. Bullethead has incredible energy for a
bunch of 60 yos. Same with Outta Space.

I also think Dave's voice and songwriting was still in the progress of
maturing on those demos. These new versions are the fucking bomb.

It kind of sounds like She's My Machine from YFLM. I actually like
it.

Interestingly, until ADKOT came out, Down In Flames seemed to be the
most popular unreleased song. Ultimately, that song became Tattoo,
which is most people's least favorite tune on the record.

(A big shout out to Wolfgang--happy birthday kid!)
